Windows App Preview Program

The new Windows App Preview Program is available to Insiders in the Slow, Fast, Release Preview rings. It’s an opt-in program and will let insiders try out the latest Windows app features first. Unlike the Windows 10 Insider program, it’s not an “all or nothing” deal. Not all the apps will be the latest preview versions. Instead, you can choose the specific app you want to be in the program for.

The first wave of Windows apps in the preview program include the following:

Feedback HubMicrosoft PhotosMicrosoft Sticky NotesMicrosoft TipsPaint 3DWindows Alarms & ClockWindows CalculatorWindows CameraWindows Mixed Reality ViewerWindows Voice Recorder

To opt-in to an app to preview program, launch one of the apps included in the program and go to the Settings or About page. Then scroll down toward the bottom and select the “Join Preview” button. Note that each app has limits to the number of testers for any given app. If all slots for an app are filled up, you’ll get a notification when a slot opens, so you can join them. If you want to leave the preview program, you can do that from the app’s Settings or about page and click the “Leave preview” button. It’s also worth mentioning that if you’re in the Skip Ahead part of the Fast ring, you don’t need to do anything as you already receive the latest app previews automatically. If you’re a Windows Insider, do you plan to opt-in to any of the app previews?
